Optimal water parameters for shrimp

IMPORTANT FOR ALL SPECIES

• Ammonia (NH₃/NH₄⁺): 0 ppm

• Nitrite (NO₂⁻): 0 ppm

• Nitrate (NO₃⁻): < 20 ppm (ideally < 10 ppm)

• No copper in the water (avoid medications and fertilizers containing Cu)

• Parameters must be stable – shrimp hate fluctuations!

My personal tip:

Best results come from RO water + remineralization (e.g. Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+). 

Regular 20–30 % water changes every week = happy and colorful shrimp!
